Participating to a rally has been one of my greatest dreams since I am a teenager. I like 4x4 trucks, the dust, the rocks, the desert, the forest, the adventure and the competition spirit. I have dreamed of the Dakar, which is definitely out of budget and requires a FIA license, and then I have found the Budapest-Bamako. Something possibly harder than the Dakar, with no assistance, and more than 8000 Km of roads across Europe and Africa. Next Budapest-Bamako will take place in January 2013, starting from Budapest and arriving somewhere in Mali (the final destination was not Bamako in the 2012 edition). Since we live in Stockholm, we have to add 2500 Km more to our trip.

My fiancée, Doris, shares the same passion for travels and adventures, and we both decided to join the 2013 edition. The name of our team comes from the Tayrona national park in Colombia -Doris native country- probably one of the most beautiful seaside in the Caribbean.

The Budapest-Bamako is also a charity event. Each team has to commit in a humanitarian project in Africa.  Before November we have to find a car, a sponsor, work out all the administrative stuff and a suitable charity project. In the meanwhile we have to get married.
Do no hesitate to mail us for more information or, better of all, if you wish to sponsor us.
The Budapest-Bamako is the greatest African run in the World, and is widely covered by media.
The budget to participate is quite low, but we also need material like camping stuff, spare wheels, and some minimal (but yet essential) preparation of the vehicle. Every contribution is most welcome.
